Seoul has been named one of the world's top ten cities for the first time.

The South Korean capital landed at No. 10 on Euromonitor International's Top 100 City Destinations Index, released Tuesday, which ranks the attractiveness of global cities based on factors including tourism numbers, infrastructure and safety.

Euromonitor said in a press release that the popularity of K-culture brought significant tourism to Seoul this year.

The city ranked No. 24 in 2018, rebounded to No. 14 in 2023, and landed at No. 12 last year, before debuting in the top ten in 2025.

Paris topped the list for the fifth consecutive year, boosted by the reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral and significant events, including UEFA Champions League matches.

Madrid placed second, followed by Tokyo, the top Asian city on the list, in third.

Italy's Rome and Milan came in fourth and fifth, respectively, followed by New York, Amsterdam, the Spanish city of Barcelona and Singapore.
