Samsung Electronics Widens Gap with Rivals in Q3 Foldable Phone Shipments

Samsung Electronics has widened the gap with competitors in global foldable phone shipments, keeping the largest market share in the third quarter.

According to a report from the global tech market research firm Counterpoint Research on Saturday, Samsung Electronics posted a 64 percent share in foldable phone shipments between July and September, up eight percentage points from a year earlier.

While Huawei maintained its 15 percent share, the gap between the two rivals widened from 41 percentage points in the third quarter of 2024 to 49 percentage points.

Motorola ranked third in market share at seven percent, followed by Honor at six percent, Vivo at four percent and Xiaomi at two percent.

The report said overall foldable phone shipments in the July-to-September period rose 14 percent year-on-year to reach a record high for the quarter, with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 series leading the gains.
