In the wake of the massive Coupang data breach, new data indicates that the number of phishing scams involving the e-commerce giant has reached nearly 230 in the past ten days.

That's according to data that ruling Democratic Party Rep. Lee Jeong-heon, of the parliamentary science and ICT committee, obtained from the Korean National Police Agency on Thursday.

The police found that between November 30 and December 9, 229 reports of Coupang-related phishing scams were filed.

Many of the reported cases involved parties impersonating Coupang and promising compensation for damages.

Lee said Coupang customers could suffer secondary damages due to the data breach, including phishing scams.

Lee then urged Coupang and its founder, Bom Kim, to take responsibility and promptly devise compensation measures.
