South Korea and the United States will stage a joint drill simulating nuclear and radiological terror attacks.

Seoul’s foreign ministry said Monday that the two-day exercise, titled “Winter Tiger IV,” will begin on Monday in Seoul and bring together around 120 officials from both countries responsible for responding to nuclear and radiological terrorism.

Participants will review step-by-step responses to a potential nuclear attack on Seoul, examine the roles of relevant agencies and discuss measures to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

The “Winter Tiger” drills have been jointly hosted since 2017 by South Korea’s foreign ministry, the U.S. Department of War and the U.S. Department of Energy to enhance the two countries’ capacity to respond to nuclear and radiological terrorism.
