Ruling Party to Introduce Special Tribunal Bill at Plenary Session Tuesday

The ruling Democratic Party plans to introduce a bill to establish a special tribunal for martial law-related cases at the National Assembly’s plenary session next Tuesday.

Party spokesperson Kim Hyun-jung unveiled the plan to reporters at the National Assembly on Thursday and said a plenary session will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday.

According to the spokesperson, the first item on the agenda for opening day will be a revision to the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.

The main opposition People Power Party(PPP) is expected to filibuster, and the bill is set for a vote in the morning of next Tuesday.

The Democratic Party plans to submit the special tribunal bill next, and the PPP is also expected to filibuster.

The bill has been revised in line with the Constitution, with changes including a ban on external parties from the selection committee and a limit on the division's scope to appeals.
