E-commerce giant Coupang says it obtained a full confession from the former employee behind a recent data breach under instructions from the government.

In a press release on Friday, Coupang also said it collected all devices that were used in the leak of customer information and uncovered “important facts” regarding the compromised data.

The company said it immediately submitted the information it obtained from the ex-employee to the government, along with the devices and a written statement from the ex-employee.

Coupang issued the press release for the second day in a row, after the government criticized the company’s earlier announcement about the confession and the retrieval of equipment as containing unverified claims.
