Seven North Korean escapees who initially fled to Cambodia have arrived in South Korea.

A government official said Friday that all seven escapees arrived in Seoul the previous day.

The seven asylum-seekers reportedly received protection from the Cambodian police prior to their arrival in the South.

They will be sent to a special facility for North Korean defectors after going through a joint questioning session by related agencies.
