President Lee Jae Myung will visit Beijing next week to hold bilateral talks with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

Seoul’s presidential office announced Tuesday that the South Korean president will make a four-day state visit to China starting Sunday.

Presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung said President Lee will travel to Beijing on Sunday for a three-day visit, during which he is scheduled to hold talks with President Xi and take part in other diplomatic engagements.

Lee will then head to Shanghai before returning to South Korea on Wednesday.

The presidential office said the two leaders will seek ways to solidify their countries’ bilateral strategic cooperative partnership during the visit. 

The upcoming talks will mark the second meeting between Lee and Xi in just over two months, following their first encounter on the sidelines of the APEC summit in South Korea.
