Cold Snap to Subside Saturday

The cold snap will begin waning Saturday.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, morning lows on Saturday will range between minus 14 degrees and minus one degree Celsius nationwide, up two to three degrees from Friday. 

Afternoon highs will hover between zero and eight degrees, or five to six degrees higher than Friday, recovering to seasonal average levels. 

Starting Saturday, afternoon highs are forecast to stand above zero degrees in most parts of the nation for the time being. 

Snow is expected through the early hours of Saturday in the southern coastal areas of the Jeolla provinces and South Chungcheong Province. 

The Jeolla provinces are expected to see one to five centimeters of snow and Jeju’s mountainous areas between three and ten centimeters of snowfall.
