In a message to the Korean public ahead of the nation's long Chuseok holiday, President Roh Moo-hyun vowed to exert utmost efforts to boost the economy and delivered his best holiday wishes.

The President said he will ensure consumer prices and the real estate market remain stable.

He thanked soldiers, police officers, firefighters and others working around the clock giving up their holidays to respond to possible emergencies.

Some 40 million are expected to travel during Chuseok, one of the biggest holidays in the country, which will last until next Wednesday.
