The opening ceremony of a field office for the Gaesong Industrial Complex being built in North Korea is set to take place around October 21st.

A government official said Pyongyang has proposed the timetable, adding the Korea Land Cooperation, the Gaesong project manager, has no problem with the North's proposal.

The opening ceremony was originally set for this month, but Pyongyang denied entry of South Korean lawmakers from the main opposition Grand National Party for the ceremony, forcing its postponement, even though the North later reversed its ban on the opposition legislators' visit.

Launching of a government aid task force and an operating agency is also scheduled for next month, after which the administrative support system for the Gaesong construction will be, for the most part, finalized.
