KOSPI Rises 3.43% to Break 4,400 for First Time despite Crisis in Venezuela

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) surpassed the four-thousand-400 mark for the first time after jumping three percent from Friday's closing despite the U.S. strike in Venezuela that broke on the weekend.

The KOSPI ended Monday's trading at four-thousand-457-point-52, after gaining 147-point-89 points, or three-point-43 percent to break Friday's record of four-thousand-309-point-63.

The main bourse opened Monday up one-point-77 percent at four-thousand-385-point-92, which already exceeded Friday's high of four-thousand-313-point-55.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also rose eleven-point-93 points, or one-point-26 percent to end Monday at 957-point-five, which is the highest since 958-point-seven recorded on January 20, 2022.
