The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) broke four-thousand-500 for the first time in intraday trading on Tuesday.

The main bourse reached four-thousand-501-point-57 as of 1:45 p.m., up 44-point-05 points, or zero-point-99 percent from Monday.

The KOSPI, which surpassed four-thousand-300 for the first time on Friday, surged past four-thousand-400 on Monday.

The index opened Tuesday at four-thousand-446-point-08, eleven-point-44 points lower from Monday's closing, and fell below four-thousand-400 before climbing back up to break the four-thousand-500 mark.

The KOSPI was trading at four-thousand-502-point-26 as of 2:30 p.m.
