The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) gained for three trading days in a row to break four-thousand-500 for the first time on Tuesday.

The main bourse closed at four-thousand-525-point-48, up 67-point-96 points, or one-point-52 percent from Monday.

The KOSPI, which surpassed four-thousand-300 for the first time on Friday, surged past four-thousand-400 on Monday.

The index opened Tuesday at four-thousand-446-point-08, eleven-point-44 points lower from Monday's closing, and fell below four-thousand-400 before climbing back up to break the four-thousand-500 mark.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ, on the other hand, dropped one-point-53 points, or zero-point-16 percent from Monday to close at 955-point-97.
