N.Korea Blames U.S. for Failed 6-Way Talks

North Korea has blamed the United States for disrupting the fourth round of six-party talks, previously scheduled to open in Beijing this month.

North Korea’s Rodong Shinmun newspaper said Monday it was the United States, not the North that obstructed and disrupted the six-party talks.

The paper accused the United States for continuing its hostile policy toward North Korea as well as what it claimed were “double standards” toward nuclear issues on the Korean Peninsula.

The paper also denounced the United States for reversing its earlier promise by refusing to offer compensation in return for the North’s nuclear dismantlement.

The paper also said the United States has destroyed the basic six-party framework by engaging in what it claimed were “criminal acts,” to ultimately break down the North Korean regime.
