President Lee Jae Myung says the government will manage South Korea-China ties so that they won't be swayed by emotions.

Lee made the remark on Wednesday in Shanghai during a luncheon with reporters accompanying him on his state visit to China. 

Lee said South Korea and China truly need each other, hence there is no need for them to provoke, ostracize or be up against one another.

The president said during his trip, he had engaged in sincere dialogue on cooperation in supply chains, establishing peace on the Korean Peninsula and on regional security issues. 

Lee said he believes his state visit made much more progress than expected, adding that ways to smoothly address sensitive issues had been found.
