Beloved South Korean actor Ahn Sung‑ki, who died Monday after battling blood cancer, will be laid to rest.

Ahn’s funeral Mass was held at Seoul’s Myeongdong Cathedral on Friday morning, officiated by Archbishop Peter Chung Soon-taick.

The late actor's family and approximately 600 people from the film and cultural industries attended the Mass to bid their farewells.

At a ceremony that followed the Mass, Ahn’s family and colleagues from the film industry gathered to pay tribute to him.

Ahn’s eldest son read from a letter that was found in his father’s study, in which he asked his son to always be humble and honest, love others, do his best at work, be on time, and handle failure and sadness with peace of mind.

Ahn will be laid to rest in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province.
