The final hearing in former President Yoon Suk Yeol’s insurrection trial is seeing a delay.

The hearing, which began at 9:20 a.m. Friday, was set to wrap up a review of the written evidence within the morning hours.

After that review, to be carried out by both the special counsel team and the legal teams representing Yoon and his seven co-defendants, the special counsel team was to present its closing argument and sentencing recommendations.

But most of the morning saw wrangling between the special counsel team and former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun’s lawyers over the process of reviewing the evidence.

As a result, the sentencing recommendations are likely to come late at night.

Yoon’s legal team has said its closing argument could run between six and eight hours.
