A fire broke out around 5 a.m. on Friday in Guryong Village in southern Seoul, prompting firefighting operations.

No casualties have been reported so far.

Thirty-two households and 47 residents have been evacuated to a temporary shelter.

Traffic has been restricted on some lanes of the nearby Yangjae-daero due to fire-related operations.

Fire authorities issued a Level One response order at 5:10 a.m., after receiving a report of a fire in a vacant house, and escalated it to Level Two at 8:50 a.m.

Authorities are continuing efforts to prevent the fire from spreading to the hillside and are maintaining the current response level.

They added that the cause of the fire will be investigated once the blaze is fully extinguished.
