The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) broke four‑thousand‑800 for the first time shortly after the market opened on Friday.

The main bourse opened up 23‑point‑11 points, or zero‑point‑48 percent, at four‑thousand‑820‑point‑66, surpassing its intraday record of four-thousand-797-point-55 set the previous day.
 
With the advance, the benchmark extended its winning streak to eleven consecutive sessions, marking its third-longest rally on record after September 2019 and March 2006.
 
The milestone has brought the market within 200 points of the long-anticipated five-thousand mark.
 
As of 9:51 a.m. on Friday, the KOSPI was trading at four‑thousand‑810‑point‑17, up zero‑point‑26 percent from Thursday.
