South Korea’s leading male table tennis players, Jang Woo-jin and Cho Dae-seong, won the men's doubles title at World Table Tennis(WTT) Star Contender Doha.

During the finals at Qatar’s Lusail Sports Arena on Sunday, Korea time, the duo beat Huang Youzheng and Wen Ruibo of China 3-2, grabbing South Korea’s first WTT Series victory of 2026.

The last time South Korea won a WTT competition was in June 2022 at WTT Contender Zagreb.

The duo’s victory was significant in that they defeated China’s Lin Shidong, who is No. 2 in the world, and Liang Jingkun 3-2 in the Round of 16.

Meanwhile, South Korea’s Park Gang-hyeon and Kim Na-yeong lost the mixed doubles final to Wong Chun Ting and Doo Hoi Kem of Hong Kong.
