Textbook Publisher to Use Both 'East Sea' and 'Sea of Japan'

International textbook publisher Dorling Kindersley has agreed to use both the terms, "East Sea" and "Sea of Japan", in its textbooks and travel guides.

Dorling Kindersley also said it would correct factual errors in one of its textbooks, including one that described Chinese as an official language of South Korea.

Koreans have claimed that the name "Sea of Japan" is wrongly used to describe the waters between the Korean Peninsula and Japan and should be changed back to the East Sea, the English translation of the Korean name, "Dong Hae."
