The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) set a new closing high on Wednesday, just a day after hitting a new closing high, coming closer to the five-thousand-200 mark. 

The KOSPI closed above the five-thousand-100 mark for the first time ever on Wednesday after gaining 85-point-96 points, or one-point-69 percent, to close at five-thousand-170-point-81.

The index opened up 60-point-54 points, or one-point-19 percent, from the previous day at five-thousand-145-point-39 and had surged as high as to five-thousand-183-point-44 at around 11 a.m. 

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also set a new closing high on Wednesday, only a day after the figure posted a new high.

The index climbed 50-point-93 points, or four-point-seven percent, to close at one-thousand-133-point-52.
