South Korean chipmaker SK hynix saw both its operating profit and sales post new quarterly highs in the fourth quarter of last year.

The company said in a regulatory filing Wednesday that its operating profit surged a little over 137 percent in the fourth quarter of last year from the same period in 2024 to stand at nearly 19-point-two trillion won, or around 13-point-four billion U.S. dollars. 

Sales jumped 66-point-one percent to stand at nearly 33 trillion won. 

The company saw a new quarterly record in both operating profit and sales in the October-December period of last year. 

The chipmaker's operating profit margin stood at 58 percent, breaking the previous high of 57 percent posted in the third quarter of 2018.

Annual sales climbed nearly 47 percent to some 97-point-one trillion won while annual operating profit doubled to around 47-point-two trillion won.
