Hanwha Aerospace will supply Norway with Chunmoo multiple-rocket launchers, guided missiles and logistical support.

The defense company said on Monday that Hanwha Aerospace CEO Son Jae-il and Gro Jaere, director-general of Norway’s National Defense Material Agency, had signed a contract worth one-point-three trillion won, or 922 million U.S. dollars. 

The signing ceremony took place in Norway on Friday, with presidential chief of staff Kang Hoon-sik and Marte Gerhardsen, state secretary of the Norwegian Defense Ministry, in attendance.

Kang said that Seoul and the company will do their utmost to ensure that Chunmoo strengthens Norway’s security and national prosperity.

Hanwha Aerospace said the government, which has been advancing defense diplomacy since last year, played the most significant role in securing the deal.
