The ruling and opposition parties have agreed to hold a plenary session on Thursday of next week and handle noncontentious bills first.

Ruling Democratic Party(DP) floor leader Han Byung-do and main opposition People Power Party(PPP) floor leader Song Eon-seog reached the agreement during a meeting at the National Assembly on Wednesday.

Han said the rival camps will first tackle the bills they have agreed to deal with.

Asked if next week’s plenary will vote on reform bills pushed by the DP, Han said related consultations will be held between the senior deputy floor leaders of the DP and PPP.

On rumors that the DP could convene a plenary session this Thursday and push for the passage of some bills opposed by the opposition camp, both Han and Song reaffirmed that no plenary will be held Thursday.
