Amid heightening concerns over possible terrorist attacks, police are planning to set up a security check point within Incheon International Airport. The move comes after the number-two man in the al-Qaida hierarchy threatened a terrorist attack on South Korea.

Airport authorities and security officials said Monday that the police had informed them of the plan in a letter, asking them to establish a security check point similar to the Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine area to collect detailed information on suspected terrorists.

A top airport security official said airport authorities and the police are discussing where and how to set up the check point.
