Two soldiers died after a military helicopter crashed in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province Monday morning.

According to the Army, an AH-1S Cobra helicopter of its 15th Aviation Group went down during training in Gapyeong's Jojong area at around 11:04 a.m., with no identified cause.

The training involved emergency landing with the engine turned on.

The two warrant officers aboard the helicopter were transported to civilian hospitals, but were later pronounced dead.

Military authorities said there was no explosion or fire from the crash.

The Army suspended operation of the same helicopter model and launched an investigation into the accident.
