During the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, the Korean Sport and Olympic Committee held a “Korean Day” event in Milan, Italy, to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

The committee hosted a range of Korean cultural experience programs on Tuesday at Korea House, set up at Villa Necchi Campiglio in the Italian city.

The event introduced Lunar New Year traditions to international invitees and members of the Korean community and offered hands-on experiences of traditional folk games such as jegichagi, along with K-pop dance performances.

Toward the end of the event, participants shared tteokguk, or rice cake soup traditionally eaten during the Lunar New Year.

About 100 people attended the event, including South Korean Ambassador to Italy Kim Choon-goo and Consul General in Milan Choi Tae-ho.
