South Korea’s short track speed skating team captured the country’s second gold medal at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.

The team of Choi Min-jeong, Kim Gil-li, Shim Suk-hee and Noh Do-hee clocked four minutes four-point-014 seconds to finish first in the women’s three-thousand-meter relay final on Wednesday at Milano Ice Skating Arena in Milan.

The victory marked South Korea’s seventh medal of the Games and its first gold in short track.

It also signaled a return to the top of the podium in the women’s relay for the first time since the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

With the latest win, Choi claimed her fourth career Olympic gold medal, tying the record set by former short tracker Chun Lee-kyung for the most Winter Olympic golds by a South Korean athlete.

South Korea will seek additional gold in the men’s five-thousand-meter relay and the women’s 15-hundred-meter individual event scheduled for Saturday.
