The main opposition People Power Party(PPP) has yet to issue an official stance on the life imprisonment verdict against former President Yoon Suk Yeol over his failed martial law declaration. 

An official of the party's leadership told Seoul-based Yonhap News Agency that the party decided not to issue a statement on Thursday. 

Similarly, the party did not issue a statement when the death penalty was sought for Yoon by the prosecution team that investigated and indicted him on charges of leading an insurrection.

PPP chair Jang Dong-hyeok is said to be considering ways to deliver a message on Friday.
