As the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics near their conclusion, South Korea's speed skating team has finished its campaign without winning a medal.

Speed skater Chung Jae‑won placed fifth in the men's mass start at Milano Speed Skating Stadium in Milan on Saturday, falling short in his bid for a third consecutive Olympic medal.

In the women's mass start, Park Ji‑woo finished 14th, and Kim Min‑sun also placed 14th in her signature 500‑meter event.

It is the first time in 24 years that South Korea has failed to secure a single speed skating medal at the Winter Games.

The 17‑day Olympics will conclude with the closing ceremony on Sunday.
