The Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics have concluded with a closing ceremony after 17 days of competition.

The ceremony took place at the Verona Olympic Arena in northern Italy on Sunday evening, despite Verona not hosting any competitions during the Games.

More than two-thousand-900 athletes from 92 countries competed in the Winter Olympics across about 22-thousand square kilometers, making it the most spread-out Olympics ever.

South Korea, which sent a delegation of 130 members including 71 athletes, finished 13th overall with three gold, four silver and three bronze medals.

Although it fell short of its target of a top-ten finish, South Korea improved by one spot from the 2022 Beijing Games, where it ranked 14th.

The Milano Cortina Paralympics will open on March 6, and the next Winter Olympics will take place in France in four years.
