Business sentiment rebounded in February as gains in non-manufacturing sectors offset manufacturing weakness stemming from fewer working days during the Lunar New Year holiday.

According to the Bank of Korea's Business Survey and Economic Sentiment Index For February 2026, released on Wednesday, the Composite Business Sentiment Index(CBSI) rose by zero-point-two points from January to 94-point-two last month.

A reading below 100 indicates that pessimists outnumber optimists.

The CBSI in the manufacturing sector dropped zero-point-four points from the previous month to 97-point-one in February, due to fewer working days.

The index for non-manufacturing industries, including restaurants, wholesale and retail, rose zero-point-five points to 92-point-two.

The BSI outlook for March rose six‑point‑six points from the previous month to 97‑point‑six.
