South Korea’s benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) broke the six-thousand point milestone for the first time on Wednesday.

The main bourse opened at six-thousand-22-point-70, up 53-point-06 points, or zero-point-89 percent from the previous session.

With the advance, the South Korean stock market has entered the era of six-thousand KOSPI, a level investors have long regarded as a dream.

The milestone came about a month after the KOSPI first surpassed five-thousand on January 22.

As of 9:27 a.m., the KOSPI was trading at six-thousand-13-point-30, up zero-point-73 percent from Tuesday.
