South, North Korea to Resume Military Talks This Week

Written: 2004-10-06 00:00:00Updated: 0000-00-00 00:00:00

South and North Korea will resume military talks this week after a three-month hiatus.

The Defense Ministry said that it accepted the North's proposal made earlier in the week that the two sides hold working-level military talks on Thursday.

The two sides are expected to discuss details of cross-border travel via inter-Korean rail and road links now under construction.

The inter-Korean military meeting will be the first of its kind since Pyongyang pulled out of a scheduled meeting in July, protesting Seoul's firing of warning shots at an intruding North Korean vessel off the west coast.
