S. Korea Strengthens Pet Rights Rules

South Korea says it'll strengthen regulations to protect pet animals.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry said it will impose a ban on butchering dogs in public and other abusive acts toward animals.

The Ministry also plans to seek revisions to the animal protection law in order to implement a set of new animal rights measures as early as 2006.
