A top Russian diplomat in China says the issue of North Korea's nuclear ambitions will be on the agenda for the upcoming summit meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Hu Jintao.

In an interview with Russia's ITAR-Tass News Agency on Thursday, Moscow's Ambassador to Beijing, Igor Rogachev, said Putin and Hu will discuss the North's nuclear standoff when they meet in China next week.

Rogachev also expressed anticipation that the six-nation nuclear talks would resume promptly to address the North Korean nuclear issue, calling the situation on the Korean Peninsula one of the most complicated in the world.
