President Roh Moo-hyun will fly to Ho Chi Minh from Hanoi Monday and visit the plants of South Korean firms operating in the southern Vietnamese city.

On his last day in Hanoi Sunday, Roh wrapped up his official agenda in Vietnam with a luncheon meeting with some 100 South Korean and Vietnamese businesspeople.

The two sides agreed on the need for South Korean firms to expand investment in the Southeast Asian nation with support from the Vietnamese government.

In particular, Roh proposed establishing a better financing system that would facilitate the operations of South Korean firms doing business in Vietnam.

Earlier in the day, Roh paid his respects at the mausoleum of Vietnam's revolutionary leader Ho Chi Minh and held summit talks with Vietnamese President Tran Duc Luong.

Roh was the first South Korean president to pay an official visit to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. Former President Kim Dae-jung informally paid his respects there back in 1998.

Roh, who attended the Asia-Europe Meeting in Hanoi after making an official trip to India, is set to return home on Tuesday.
