The father of an American, Nicholas Berg, who was kidnapped and beheaded by Islamic militants in Iraq in April, met the parents of South Korean Kim Sun-il, who was also killed by extremists in the war-torn nation.

Michael Berg visited the southern port city of Busan on Sunday and conveyed words of condolence and comfort to Kim's parents. Berg said the pain of losing their loved ones should be overcome by actively taking part in anti-war campaigns.

After meeting with Kim's parents, Berg gave a lecture at Busan University, during which he blamed U.S. President George W. Bush for starting an unjustified war in Iraq and causing his son's death.

Berg arrived in Seoul on Saturday for a four-day visit at the invitation of the progressive Democratic Labor Party and a local anti-war organization.
