South and North Korea have opened working-level talks on the reconnection of cross-border railways and roads.

During the three-day meeting, which is taking place in the North's border town of Gaesong, working-level officials are expected to finalize details on building six train stations in the North's eastern and western sections of the heavily fortified border.

The South Korean side also plans to discuss holding a joint ceremony to mark the opening of cross-border roads as well as test-runs of cross-border railways.

Eight delegates from South Korea are attending the meeting, including officials from the Unification Ministry, the Construction and Transportation Ministry and engineers.
