ARF Cyber Terror Seminar Opens in Jeju

A cyber-terrorism seminar for Asia-Pacific countries has kicked off on the southern resort island of Jeju.

The three-day event is jointly organized by the Foreign Ministry and the National Cyber Security Center and jointly chaired by South Korea and the Philippines.

In attendance are some 100 diplomats and security officials from 20 of the 24 member-countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Regional Forum, including South Korea, the United States, China, Russia and Japan.

The officials will seek ways to enhance private and government-level cooperation, technical measures, the formation of special emergency bodies in each country as well as joint measures among ARF member countries to deal with cyber threats and cyber terrorism.
