The Seoul metropolitan government says British lawmakers will visit Seoul city to benchmark its public transportation system reform policies.

The Seoul city government said Sunday that six lawmakers from the British Parliament’s Transportation Committee will hold talks related to public transportation system reforms and transportation policies with Seoul city mayor Lee Myung-bak on Tuesday.

The lawmakers will then visit the Bus Management System office in central Seoul.

The lawmakers had requested a visit to Seoul via the British Embassy to seek advice on ways to solve transportation problems in London, which hopes to win a bid to host the 2012 summer Olympics.

Officials said the lawmakers’ visit would be a good opportunity to promote Seoul city’s know-how of transportation reforms to European countries.
