The nation's third-largest automaker, GM Daewoo Auto & Technology Co., unveiled its first hybrid experimental car to the public on Monday.

The eco-friendly car powered by fuel cell and hydrogen has been dubbed by some here as a template for a future vehicle for the coming years, when the world's fossil fuel resources may be depleted.

The company said the new car can run at a maximum speed of 160 kilometers per hour, and can go for some 400 kilometers on one hydrogen recharge.

GM Daewoo also said it would manufacture a 100 percent emission free hydrogen-powered auto in the next ten years.

During the day's launching ceremony, the 'S3X' sports utility vehicle also made its debut. The hybrid car is another of GM Daewoo's experiments developed as a future-oriented strategic car model.
