Professor Hwang Woo-seok of Seoul National University, who oversaw the successful cultivation of embryonic stem cells from human ova, has expressed confidence that therapeutic cloning may produce a cure for diabetes in less than three years.

According to a source from the United Nations, Hwang reportedly made the remarks during a recent visit to U.N. headquarters in New York.
