A group of some dozen U.S. media heavyweights is scheduled to visit the nation throughout this month.

Related sources said Wednesday that a CEO delegation of CableLabs will arrive in Seoul over the next couple of days, invited by Samsung Electronics Co.

The U.S. organization consists of top leaders and chief technology experts of America's biggest cable broadcast station. Other guests include Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, Time Warner Cable Chairman Glenn Britt and Comcast chief, Brian Roberts. Samsung is planning to commercialize the world's first OCAP (OpenCable Application Platform) digital TV by the end of next year with the cooperation of U.S. cable operators.
