A joint committee between South and North Korea to oversee operations of an industrial complex in the North's border city of Gaesong will be launched starting Thursday.

The Seoul office of the committee will be in charge of supporting processes necessary for the entry of South Korean goods and materials to the North.

A Seoul government official said three to four North Koreans will be working in the committee under the direction of the committee's director. The North Koreans, he said, will be paid based upon the North's minimum wage level requirements of 57 dollars for workers in the complex.
