Japan is reportedly planning on sending a team of officials to North Korea in early November to monitor whether the food and medicines Tokyo provided as part of humanitarian aid are being distributed appropriately.

Quoting a government source, Japan's Kyodo News Agency said Monday that the team will be made up of around ten people, including officials from the Foreign Ministry. The reports said the delegation would be in the impoverished Stalinist state for about a week as part of an international monitoring team.

Japan decided to deliver 125,000 tons of food and seven million U.S. dollars worth of medical aid to North Korea this year.
