Five participants of the six-nation nuclear talks, with the exception of North Korea, are reportedly discussing the timetable for reconvening the dialogue after the November 2nd U.S. presidential election.

Quoting multiple sources on the negotiations, Japan's Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported on Wednesday that the U.S. is considering extending a so-called preparatory period for North Korea from three months to five, during which Pyongyang would prepare for certain measures to be implemented after an envisaged renouncement of its nuclear arms program.

The sources reportedly claimed that the six-way talks could reconvene in the near future, pointing out Pyongyang's recent expressions of flexibility on the matter.
