A South Korean kitchenware firm that will operate at an industrial complex in North Korea's border city of Gaesong is likely to start production from the end of next month at the earliest.

A government official said Friday that Livingart is likely to start producing its cookware goods from the end of next month in line with progress in the construction of its plant in the Gaesong industrial complex.

The official said that production at other South Korean companies making inroads into the industrial park is likely to begin by December at the latest. The official added that Seoul will closely work with the North to ensure the smooth operation of South Korean firms in the industrial complex.
